Therapy is a collaborative process between a trained mental health professional and a client. The primary goal of therapy is to help individuals understand and manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Together, we will:
1.) Establish a Therapeutic Relationship: The first step is to build a trusting and supportive relationship. This trust is ESSENTIAL for effective therapy. Therapy can feel a lot like dating and if for whatever reason I am not the right fit for you, I will do everything in my power to find you a therapist who is!
2.) Set Goals: During the intake session (first appointment) I will gather information about you, specifically surrounding current concerns, goals, and what is most important to you. This gives me a better understanding of your needs and helps set a direction for therapy. Together we will come up with goals you would like to specifically work on in therapy.
3.) Explore and Understand in a Nonjudgmental Environment: I will help you explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This can involve discussing past experiences, current challenges, and patterns that may be influencing your current well being.

We'll start with a free 15 minute phone consultation to determine what you are looking for in a therapist. From there, we will determine if we are a good fit to work together. If we both feel we are a good fit, an intake appointment will be scheduled!

It depends! Sometimes a client can "complete" therapy in 6 months, whereas other clients continue to meet for "maintenance therapy" or to have an outside perspective on whatever life throws their way.
In the beginning of our work together, we will discuss your expectations of how long you think therapy will last, and how I can help you along your therapy journey. Whether I am in your journey for a short time or a long time, I am honored to be a part of it!

Yes! I am an in- network provider with CareFirst, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and CIGNA insurance plans.
I am considered an "out-of-Network" provider for other insurance plans. If you would like to still meet with me, I can provide any necessary documentation that you need to submit to your insurance plan for potential reimbursement. Please check your benefits prior to scheduling an appointment!
